Artur Lesicki is a guitarist, composer, doctor of art in the field of musical arts and a lecturer at the Department of Jazz at the Academy of Music. K. Lipiński in Wrocław.
He was nominated for the Fryderyk 2016 award (album Napiórkowski - Lesicki Celuloid).
Artur is mainly a jazz musicianand also has collaborqated with musicians in other genres of music and has about forty albums to his credit.
Together with Marek Napiórkowski, he led the leading Polish group Funky Groove, the best electric jazz band of 2003 and 2004 according to Jazz Forum magazine. The band's first album, released by the global concern PolyGram (now Universal), was included in the company's global catalog shortly after its Polish premiere.
The album of his own group, Artur Lesicki Acoustic Harmony, "An Unbelievable Silence" was recognized as the best jazz release of 2004 by the monthly Gitara i Bas.
Over the years, Artur Lesicki has collaborated with with: Funky Groove (leader), Acoustic Harmony (leader), Krzysztof Kiljański, Gordon Haskell, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Urszula Dudziak, Krystyna Prońko, Katarzyna Groniec, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Wojciech Karolak, Tomasz Szukalski, orchestras: Tomek Szymuś, Krzysztof Herdzin and Adam Sztaba.
He has performed at all major jazz festivals, and also many times abroad, including in Japan, China, France, Italy, Russia, Germany and the Netherlands.
As a session musician, Artur recorded theater and film music, including the award-winning soundtrack by Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz for the film Papusza, big-band standards in J. Majewski's film Excentrycy, i.e. on the sunny side of the street, music to paintings by Waldemar Krzystek, or theatrical compositions by Leszek Możdżer.
He participated in countless television programs, including: Taniec z Gwiazdami, Fabryka Gwiazdami, as a member of the orchestra and soloist in the Sopot Festival, Top Trendy and the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole.
During his more than 25 years of teaching experience, he contributed to the education of the entire group of guitarists who function perfectly on the professional music market. A long-time lecturer at jazz workshops in Puławy, Blues nad Bobrem and many others. Author of highly regarded educational multimedia publications - a two-part DVD guitar school Craft and Art, and a book on chord playing How They Do It. Creator of original jazz guitar teaching programs, participated as an expert in the work of the CEA. For several years he has been running his own Artur Lesicki Guitar School in Wrocław.
