Arshad is a grandson of the legendary Ustad Ahmedjaan Thirakwa of Farukkabad gharana style who was considered the preeminent soloist among tabla players of the 20th century, and among the most influential percussionists in the history of Indian Classical Music.
Arshad is a Tabla Instructor at Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Co-operation.
He from New Delhi and currently living in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, where he teaches and performs.

Arshad is featured on the album SEVEN COLORS released by Eternal music.
